You CAN shoot extended family pictures in a lifestyle manner! I still aim for capturing connections within the framework of organised and consistent setups for each group photo combo.

During extended family sessions, I don't just focus on the entire group together. There are endless family combinations, and I’m there to capture them all. Grandparents, grandparents and grandkids, couples portraits for every couple, cousins all together, you name it!

I LOVE photographing multigenerational and extended families! Vacations, reunions, holidays, and anniversary celebrations are special times and provide the perfect opportunity to be remembered with photos! 

Photograph the Generations!

Grandparents are fabulous to photograph because, for the most part, they've given up on being fashion model self-conscious and are more comfortable with who they are. That and the fact that they're absolutely crazy about the grandkids makes for a dream photoshoot. So don't wait until a grandparent is sick or ailing to take photos of them with your children. Make the effort to go get out the camera at every opportunity .

If there's one thing for us to gain from these images, aside from a full heart, it's the reminder that we won't always have them around. So go on, go and photograph the children with their grandparents or book your session. We'll always wish we took more.
