Audrey + Jae Birthday // {Orange County Event Photographer}

PINK & GOLD BIRTHDAY PARTY

This year was a BIG year  for our family with both girls birthdays being so close together and kinda big ones ( Audrey turning 1 yr and Jaelene turning 8 yrs)  SO, we decided to combine parties! I knew that doubling parties meant I had to plan to "DIY " for most the party details to keep the budget low (and also not give daddy a heart attack with spending, ha!)  so I got as crafty as I could (usually I'm just not that crafty, ha)  and did one little thing at a time. From the highchair banner, (crafted with satin fabric pieces from Joaanes) to the milestone month-by-month "watch me grow" banner (simply made by printing her images on stock paper and streaming with twine) . The cakes (8 inch rounds two tier ordered for only $13.99 at Ralphs yet looks far more sophisticated if you ask me ;) were a pure white with some texture and I crafted the cake toppers myself (to add a little badazzle) by cutting triangles from color paper and glittering the  cut out number ONE & EIGHT to match the 'pink & gold' theme. One of my FAVORITE details were the B&W  photo cookies (yes they're edible & delicious too !) by Baked Sweets By Erika. These cookies were such a special touch to celebrate all the memories my girls have made together in their first year as sisters!

So I kept finding that all the number candles were primary colors in all the stores which didn't go with a light pink or gold party theme so I decided to buy a yellow number ONE candle and paint it glitter-gold to add to the top of my little ones smash cake. Most of the purchases made were from Hobby Lobby like the cardboard 3D letters that spell "WISH" , which we spray painted gold ourselves to match the party theme, and the paper cut-out letters streamed along her highchair banner that spell "ONE" .  I also crafted fabric banners that were hung along the wood fence right where we'd greet people at the entrance, as some extra decor. For this I used .99 cent Walmart fabric (about 1 yard of each color/pattern)  and cut triangles of fabric (mint pink and gold) and glued them to twine. I did about 12 triangles for each banner (about 5 banners total) . The DIY PRINTABLE Cotton Candy Box holders are Etsy printables (by Partymonkey) that we folded and glued together.  For the "thank you favors" , I found pure white boxes at Target and free downloadable 'thank you' circle printables as well. Lastly, the pin wheels are also handcrafted (by watching tutorials on YouTube , ha)

All together, the girls PINK & GOLD (with a touch of mint) PARTY came out just as I envisioned! It was truly a magical day and all those little details didn't go unnoticed by our guests! Anyways, you get the gist of it! If their are any details from this pink and gold birthday party that you do not see mentioned here that you want to know  how to make, let me know! Shoot me an email!

Audrey's 12 month milestone baby book {Orange County Baby Photographer}

I thought I would share this 12 month milestone book I created for our little munchkin , who turns  O N E Y E A R  this week! Unreal how time flys!  Each month I would take her photo to document how much bigger she had gotten, and I would add a written piece to each page about her growth and accomplishments. This is a clean and simple way to document your baby's first year!   I used BLURB to create this memory keepsake book for my little Audrey.

Audrey Ellie // 11 months

My little munchkin rarely hits the blog but I had to share her 11 month milestone session because my goodness she is just a few short weeks from turning 1 year! Where on earth does the time even go?

If you have been following me you already know I document her each month and usually attempt to put the number blocks in there to remember her at that particular age. One more month until those number blocks sessions turn into "years" instead of "months". Eeeks. Can I press pause?

Audrey has completed our family and this last year has been the most amazing year yet - My

oldest, Jaelene, became an AMAZING big sister (will post her 8 year photos soon!) , we have

watched Audrey's many firsts . . . (first words, first foods, first steps, ) and been in joyful

tears watching her grow over this last 11 months, we have taken our first family vacations,

first family videos (w the GoPro of course) of bike rides, aquariums visits, first time at

Disneyland,  etc.  Audrey is like a blossoming flower that keeps on blossoming! She is now

walking, can say "mamma, ball, uh oh, and dadda", loves to clap and especially DANCE! She is a

BIG cuddle bug ! Her favorite food ever  is cream of spinach, I mean really? Who would have

thought right?! She has gotten tall and long and her baby rolls are slowly disappearing

which makes my heart sad because it's a reminder of just how soon she won't be a baby

anymore. She will always be my baby though ;)

I am in awe with both  my girls and every now and then they deserve to hit the blog so hope you enjoyed a little share from my life ;)

The Evan's Family/Newborn Session - Baby Chloe

This is long overdue, as I have gotten far behind on my blogging lately and Chloe's session was a month ago!

I  truly enjoyed baby Chloe's newborn session! She was such an angel to photograph!  I especially  love capturing those first days of bringing home a baby for a family, it truly goes by in the blink of an eye so it's so wonderful to be able to have photographs to look back at. I know the first few days are full of sleep deprivation (well really the first year, ha) and family visiting , feedings and constant diaper changes , trying to  get into some sort of normal routine (if possible) - but if you can squeeze in an hour for a photographer to come capture this beautiful chaos , it's well worth it!

Thanks to the Evan's family for allowing me in your home to meet your new little bundle of joy !

xoxo,

Cori

We decided to grab some coffee and chat about photography stuff while exploring around Orange County . Check out these photos of her . { M a t t + L a u r e n } // E n g a g e m e n t // Newport Beach Engagement Session

It doesn't matter what time of year it is, Newport Beach is always a gorgeous place for light & love and a perfect location for a Southern California engagement session. This fun couple {Matt & Lauren} wanted simplicity for their session so that the main focus could be their affection for one another and connection to the beach location. This lifeguard tower 10 is where they spent most of their days as a dating couple before being engaged . It is a sentimental location for them as they embark on new adventures as a married couple and new fur baby parents!

THE PROPOSAL

"After dating for Two and a half years Matt knew that he was ready to pop the big question. They had discussed a trip to New York with Matt's roommate Carl to visit their friend Jay. Matt knew this would be the perfect location. While Matt was busy planning and buying the ring, he had Jay walk through Central Park to scout out the perfect spot. With Jay's help the plan was finalized.

After spending 3 days in the city site seeing, touring, and enjoying time with friends the big day had arrived. They headed out to walk through Central Park with a group of friends. They were on their way to brunch at the Lighthouse in the middle of the park. When they arrived at the Oak bridge that Jay scouted out, Matt gave the "code word" to his friends to let them know he was about to propose so they could video and take photos of the event. While on the bridge posing for pictures, Matt caught Lauren by surprise and got down on one knee. As you all know, Lauren said YES!"

Crystal Cove Maternity Session // Sunset // Jen + Chris + 1

Sunset BABY BUMP session! //  Crystal Cove // Orange County Maternity Session // Jen + Chris + 1

This incredible sunset maternity session had me in complete AWE while shooting! These two lovebirds snuggled as the sun went down and told me all about how they read every night to Aniston (their soon-to-be first baby GIRL) … What better way to remember this then by capturing them reading together to her on the beach? This session was full of this soon-to-be mammas beautiful reflections along the shore with killer light and ocean front cliffs, honesty beyond breathtaking! . .  AND . .  not that it isn't COMPLETELY obvious , BUT,  how gorgeous is this mamma?! Just wow! One of my favorite baby bump sessions to date! Jen & Chris thank you for the incredible opportunity to capture this time in your lives and I can't wait to meet baby Aniston soon!
