In-home sessions are definitely a favorite of mine and I always feel so honored when clients invite me into their home to document the new addition to their family! When shooting a session that involves older siblings and/or fur-siblings, I always melt a little inside! It's so special to document a milestone that is exciting for everyone!

I always encourage families to play during sessions, to cuddle, airplane, tickle, and do the things that truly make them who they are on an every-day-normal basis. I love capturing families in their element, in the space where love grows and the space where they grow!

This sweet family, The Thompsons, were such a dream to photograph and I hope they will cherish these memories for years to come!

I had the pleasure of documenting this sweet little munchkin, whom happens to also be my niece, only 3 days new! I truly can’t put into words how lucky I feel that parents choose me to document one of the most delicate and precious milestones in their lives! 

When photographing newborns, I aim for simplicity. I  hope to leave you with photos that tell the story of their entry into this world , that reflect the strength and beauty of a mothers love and the strong bond in all of its newness . Since I document these families in the first weeks after birth, I understand parents are sometimes sleep deprived, moms are wearing their emotion on their sleeves - but it always moves me at how tangible their love is. I then have the obligation to portray in it my photos, its just so raw and amazing!

The newborn stage is a fleeting moment; those wrinkles, those rolls, that flaky skin, those teeny tiny delicate features... all gone in the blink of an eye! Capturing it all is an investment you will never regret!

I love documenting new life . I love and feel so honored to be invited into my clients homes, capturing the bond they share and the excitement of a siblings arrival . I really aim to capture that raw natural beauty that lies within family connection, those in-between moments, the real life stuff. For this session I found so much love these older brothers shared for each other and their first little sister. Newborn sessions are not just about photographing a perfect sleepy baby, they are about capturing the love that surrounds them and thats honestly my favorite part! So when expecting mammas email me asking if their session includes siblings & parents, I always say YES OFCOURSE! Lately I have been welcomed into a lot of homes for newborn sessions and one of my favorite parts is seeing the incredibly creative nurseries the parents build & piece together! It makes this space for their little one that much more special. This beachy themed nursery is one that makes my heart flutter guys! I literally couldn’t wait to share more of the details with you guys! You guys might remember these two new parents from their recent maternity session with me . Well Baby Owen is here and so incredibly loved, not just by his parents but by his fur-siblings too ;)  I love getting to capture those beginning moments of becoming a family , I witness the powerful love that exists between the parents and their new little bundle of joy and it melts me. I am such a mushy heart behind my lens , I seriously have the best.job.ever. I can’t say that enough.

This sweet family invited me into their home to document their new little addition to the family . When I entered into this nursery that this mamma pieced together and designed for her little girl arriving , my jaw about dropped. For starters, every last detail was so intentional and the color palette was pretty much a photographers dream!  Second, big brother Fin was super excited to show off his new little sister and definitely stole the show (in a good way) Every mamma wants their baby’s first ever room to be special and Nicole definitely nailed it ! I mean c’mon,  look at that hand made bracelet with baby girls name spelt out, how stinkin cute & personal is that?!

The aesthetic of this nursery is honestly to die for and I couldn't stop swooning over it our entire session, clicking away on my camera.

The unspeakable beauty of motherhood //

Motherhood is truly one of my favorite things to photograph. When a client books me to come and document this new chapter in their lives, I feel so honored. I feel honored that I get to watch your first interactions with this little being you created, that I get to even sometimes hold your precious gift in my arms before positioning her for a shot,  that I get to witness this incredible bond between you & your baby! I can remember after having my first child the greatest adjustment for me was not the lack of sleep, the endless laundry, or the huge responsibility that I felt, but the intense sense of vulnerability I experienced with my heart now outside my body. I had never felt so deeply about anything – ever. There is something about holding this precious little defenseless person that simultaneously evokes delirious joy and overwhelming helplessness. You would give your own soul to see them safe and wholly evolved into the fullness of their destiny. You would pay any price; sacrifice any goal; reach any compromise to make them content and complete. THIS is motherhood and getting to document these first moments for you all- it leaves my heart so full as I lay my head down to sleep. Motherhood is simply beautiful.
