One of my absolute favorite ages to photograph is the 5–6-month milestone. Babies at this stage are bursting with personality, full of expression, and starting to sit up—yet still small enough to rest on mama’s hip with those sweet dangling legs and chunky rolls that melt your heart. This in-between age often gets overlooked by families who go straight from newborn to one-year sessions, but I’m here to say: don’t skip it. It’s such a fleeting, beautiful window of time—and one of the most joyful to document.

This in-home baby milestone session with the Kohnke family in Orange County was such a dream. I’ve had the honor of photographing this beautiful mama and her baby girl during their newborn session, and I was so thrilled when she reached out to capture this next chapter of their journey.

It was such a joy to capture the Parthemer Family during their in-home newborn session. As a Newport Beach newborn photographer, I’m always reminded of the beauty and serenity that comes with welcoming a new life into a family. A couple weekends ago we had some gorgeous mammas & their adorable babies join in for the Mommy & Me Mini Sessions! It was so fun frolicking thru the golden fields at Bommer Canyon, Irvine . It was really the perfect soft light we needed for our sessions too! I just adore motherhood and getting to capture that raw beauty of it all is my absolute favorite. This gorgeous mamma, Jessica,  is a dear friend of mine and I just can’t get enough of photographing her new little girl Avery. For this session we incorporated floral crowns and flowy neutral toned  dresses to really get that dreamy feel to our session. I loved just sitting in the fields with these two watching them interact and capturing their love + bond. I think motherhood is so incredibly beautiful and we really can’t photograph it enough. I love the raw emotion and real connection between a mamma and her offspring , I love to get those natural organic shots that allow us to once remember a time that seems to go by so fast. This sweet family invited me into their home to document their new little addition to the family . When I entered into this nursery that this mamma pieced together and designed for her little girl arriving , my jaw about dropped. For starters, every last detail was so intentional and the color palette was pretty much a photographers dream!  Second, big brother Fin was super excited to show off his new little sister and definitely stole the show (in a good way) Every mamma wants their baby’s first ever room to be special and Nicole definitely nailed it ! I mean c’mon,  look at that hand made bracelet with baby girls name spelt out, how stinkin cute & personal is that?!

The aesthetic of this nursery is honestly to die for and I couldn't stop swooning over it our entire session, clicking away on my camera.
