I feel so honored when families continue to choose me year after year to document their special moments! I am so grateful that you all trust me with your precious littles and feel so incredibly lucky to call this my “job”.

I’ve known this particular family, The Dunbar Family, since their first daughter was just a baby! Her sweet hubby inquired with me about gifting his wife , Julie, a photo session when their first daughter was just 6 months old. Isn’t that the sweetest gift? Since then, I have had the pleasure of watching & documenting this little family grow! From baby bumps to newborn sessions to family sessions - and all the in-between . I am so grateful to be able to call these clients my friends!

For this sweet little motherhood session we walked around the golden fields and played and sang songs (maybe even used a little ice cream bribery for a few smiles ;)

I just love the soft, dreamy tones we had that evening in Laguna Beach, CA.  This mamma frolicked in the ocean while I obsessed over the beautiful light and her gorgeous lace gown. It was high tide that day so we had wet feet but it made it even more drool worthy to photograph her gorgeous gown draping along the ocean shore. Lately I’ve gravitated toward the unintentional , the random blur that you get from out-of-focus shots can be so beautiful, the unintentional movement of a hand gracing the wisps of hair away - its all the unintentional  that I feel connection to, the unintentional can be so beautiful.

I’m excited to share this gorgeous Santa Barbara Family Session on the BLOG with you guys! This mamma is a fellow photographer (of Jennifer Kulakowski Photography) who traveled from Washington DC and asked me to document her sweet family while vacationing here! I have to admit its always nerve wracking shooting other photogs in the industry but this mammas is too sweet for words and her adorable (and incredibly photogenic) family made my job super easy! We had gorgeous sunset light and the entire stretch of beach to ourselves this night , it was a perfect evening for a family session!

I love documenting new life . I love and feel so honored to be invited into my clients homes, capturing the bond they share and the excitement of a siblings arrival . Newborn sessions are not just about photographing a perfect sleepy baby, they are about capturing the love that surrounds them and thats honestly my favorite part!  I love giving the children in our session free roam to play and run around, capturing their real selves, their little but oh so BIG personalities as they interact with mom & dad in front my camera. Play is the key in a successful family session. Lots of tickling, chasing, jumping , splashing - I live to capture that raw beauty that lies within family connection. Sometimes asking a toddler or child to sit still and smile doesn't exactly give us a true memory of them at this age, this is why I feel its important to sing with them , giggle with them, ask them questions. This is how I capture family sessions, like a casual day with mom & dad at the beach.

This family came all the way from Arkansas to visit Jordan as just in a few weeks they get to take him home forever . I couldn't feel more honored to capture this special time for them.
